We are the home of harness racing in Victoria. 

We are a seven day a week entertainment venue with a range of racing and non-racing offerings including dining facilities, large function & conference rooms, 41 room four-star hotel, busy gaming lounge and sports bar & TAB.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Duty Manager you will assist with leading our team towards excellence in customer service and compliance including -

  • People Management:

    • Lead and support staff in daily duties, promoting teamwork and professionalism.
    • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, providing training support as needed.
    • Handle staff misconduct and performance issues.
  • Customer Service Management:

    • Uphold MEP Customer Service Standards.
    • Address and resolve guest concerns efficiently.
  • Operations & Compliance:

    • Manage compliance with RSA, RSG, TAB, VGCCC, and Liquor Control Victoria regulations.
    • Conduct daily checks to ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
    • Oversee security and cash controls, report variances to Venue Manager.
    • Assist in planning tasks, promotions, and venue presentation.
  • Financial Management & Cash Control:

    • Reconcile tills, systems, and TAB, addressing errors and variances.
    • Manage ATM clearance and stock control processes.
    • Adhere to cash handling procedures and manage Strong Room and cash collections.
  • Security & Emergency Procedures:

    • Ensure venue security and staff awareness of emergency procedures.
    • Respond to emergency situations including Fire, Security, and First Aid.
  • Communication & Administration:

    • Provide daily handovers and communicate concerns to management.
    • Ensure compliance reporting is up to date.
    • Communicate any regulatory or procedural changes to staff.

ABOUT YOU

  • Capable of delegating tasks and managing team responsibilities.
  • Advanced customer service skills, using discretion to resolve customer issues.
  • Previous experience in a multi-faceted hospitality venue.

AVAILABILITY

Must be available to work a rotating roster including days, nights, weekends and all major events.
